Dried Magnesium Sulphate 15–17% is a partially dehydrated, water-soluble magnesium salt containing approximately 15% to 17% elemental magnesium as Mg. The product is generally represented as MgSO₄·xH₂O because its exact water of crystallisation may vary according to the supplied grade and manufacturing process. It is commonly supplied as a white to off-white crystalline powder or granular material. Compared with Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate, the dried product contains less water of crystallisation and therefore provides a higher concentration of elemental magnesium by weight. Dried Magnesium Sulphate is used as a magnesium and sulphur source in fertilizer manufacturing, agricultural micronutrient formulations, fertilizer blending, industrial chemical processing, textile applications, construction materials and selected technical formulations. The stated 15–17% specification refers to elemental magnesium content as Mg and should not be interpreted as product purity.
